AMIC-UiTM 2012 International Conference; July 11-14, 2012 at the Concorde Hotel, in Shah Alam, Selangor D.E.

To commemorate the 40^th year of growth and success, the Faculty of Communication and Media Studies, UiTM will be celebrating the occasion by co-organizing an international conference with Asian Media Information and Communication Centre (AMIC) Singapore which coincidentally will be celebrating their 40^th year too.

The duo celebration has its conference aptly themed as “Forty Years of Media and Communication in Asia: Retrospect, Introspect and Prospects.”

For the Malaysian track the Faculty invites submissions of proposals (both individual papers and collective panels) on the theme “Forty Years of Communication and Media in Malaysia” which will be held concurrently with AMIC’s 21^st Annual International Conference.

 Suggested topics for papers include, but are not restricted to, the following:

• Peace Journalism: Malaysian Experience
• Gender and Media in Malaysia
• Public Relations
• Advertising
• Ethnicity, diversity and media
• Media education
• Communication and social media
• Media and Politics in Malaysia

• Convergence and Media Policies
• Family Communication
• Communication Management
• Media, Community, and Culture
• Malaysian Media and Globalisation

Submission of Abstracts:
Paper proposals should be of one page long, and should list the author's name, address, university affiliation, telephone, fax and e-mail, followed by the paper's title and an abstract of 500 words. The abstract should specify the subject, research questions asked, methodology and indicate some of the findings. Proposals will be peer reviewed.

CONFERENCE REGISTRATION AND FEES    

The following rates are applicable for registration

Local delegates refer to citizens who are currently working/studying/residing in Malaysia. Malaysians who are working/studying/residing abroad must register with AMIC Singapore at http://amic.org.sg/conference/conf2012/Cd/Registration.html

The registration fee for delegates includes participation in all conference sessions, lunch, coffee breaks, conference kit and gala dinner. Registration fee does not include travel and accommodation expenses. Hotel arrangements during the conference are to be arranged by the delegates.

Kindly be informed that all registration must be submitted to the Secretariat latest by 1^st JUNE, 2012.


Registration/ Cancellation Policy
Cancellations received in writing before 1^st June, 2012 is applicable for a full refund of the paid conference fee subject to an administrative fee of RM 100.
Cancellations made between 1^st June, 2012 and 20^th June, 2012 are subject to cancellation charges equivalent to 50% of the full conference fee paid.

Conference fees are non-refundable even for No-Shows.
