INTRODUCTION

 

The ability to attract the public using different array of communication medium today is the main factor of the new media communication. One of the major areas in creating a successful content is the creation of Digital Content. The digital content is portrayed in different communication medium in the form of animation, gamification and interactive media. 

 

The New Media program is based upon the foundation of exploring the medium of animation, gamification and interactive media in creating digital content. This program encourages the students to emphasize areas in animation, gamification and interactive media to be used in creating different platforms of digital content creation.

 

The program explores and focuses on the different time-based media, storytelling, content creation along with other emerging technologies used in the animation, games and mobile industry.

 

Students will be exposed to the various theories in animation and games and to be applied into the practical aspects in creating the different platform of digital content creation.

 

 

PROGRAMME DETAILS

 

This three (3) year programme encourages students to explore the creation of digital content through the medium of animation, games and interactive media. Its emphasis is also on the creative and practical skills upon the reflection of  learning the theoretical aspect as transferring it unto the practical aspect in creating various final products. The courses are designed to equip the students with fundamentals in visualizing their idea into a final product through various forms in relating to the expansion of the digital realm.

Introduction

The Public Relations (PR) programme started in 1972. The outcome of this programme focuses on producing public relations professionals and practitioners who are passionate, knowledgable and able to contribute to the PR industry and the country. Programme Details

The journalism programme is among the first introduced in the faculty, initially known as the School of Mass Communication which was established in 1972. The programme recognizes the role of journalism in contributing towards domestic, social and political developments, its significance to globalization and the existence of new challenges within the mass communication environment.

The faculty has extended the focus of this programme beyond the traditional stances of the mass media by exploring contemporary approaches of news gathering and reporting through initiatives with the participation of the industry in diversifying the students' requisite skills. The programme obligates in producing ethical journalism graduates who are prepared to encounter the challenges in the media industry.

This three - year programme prepares students to fulfill the requirements of the profession by providing them with a variety of skills and knowledge. The strength of the programme is in its curriculum, which emphasizes both practical and theoretical knowledge.

Introduction

Broadcasting is one of the most persuasive forces in the world today. For many people, broadcasting is a major source of events, information, entertainment as well as education. This programme offers a comprehensive knowledge of the electronic media and the acquisition of skills in broadcast television, Internet programming and content production.

Students will be exposed to the technological development, concepts of broadcast programming and production, and hands-on experience in operating audio recorders, cameras, video recorders and recording a programme in a three-camera studio.

 

Programme Details

This three – year programme integrates practical skill – based training with high level academic study, creative practice and critical reflection in a context of solid professional and Industry knowledge. The courses are designed to acquaint students with fundamentals skills in visualization, scriptwriting and audio/ video production necessary to create and produce effective television and radio programmes.
