Synopsis

The PhD programme in Communication was introduced in 1999. Its objective was to provide higher qualification and research skills to graduates and also to skills to graduates and also to produce professionals who are more critical in thinking, analytical and ethical in the mass communication discipline. The PhD programme is offered only in research mode. For full-time students, the duration of the programme will be three (3) to five (5) years while for part-time students, may take between three (3) to six (6) years to complete the programme.

Students will attend a two semester one-a-week class held during the weekends where students will be exposed to research methods, communication theories and statistic as preparations for defence of proposal, thesis and viva voce requirements. 

 

Entry Requirement

A Master’s degree (in relevant field) from UiTM or any institution of higher learning recognized by the UiTM Senate; OR

Other qualification equivalent to a Master degree (recognized by the UiTM Senate) with relevant experience in a related field. In addition, prospective students must pass an interview conducted by the faculty. Faculty
