DATUK SERI ABDUL JALIL HAMID

Datuk Seri Abdul Jalil Hamid is a communicator shaped not only by titles and positions, but by decades of listening, observing, and telling stories that matter. His journey began with a foundation in mass communication, where the values of clarity, responsibility, and truth first took root—values that would quietly guide his life’s work.

Over more than thirty years, he built a career that crossed newsrooms, government corridors, boardrooms, and global cities, always carrying with him a deep respect for the power of words and trust. As a journalist, editor, and leader, he reported from across Asia, Europe, Australia, and the United States, gaining not just experience, but perspective.

These years shaped him into a calm, thoughtful professional who understood that communication is not about noise, but about meaning. His leadership journey reached defining moments at the New Straits Times Press, where he served as Group Managing Director and later Chief Executive Officer. At a time when the media industry faced immense disruption, Datuk Seri Abdul Jalil led with courage and vision, steering the organisation through digital transformation while preserving its journalistic soul. Beyond the newsroom, he served in key roles at Reuters, Bernama, the Prime Minister’s Office, and the Melaka Chief Minister’s Office, earning respect as someone who could bridge media, policy, and public understanding.
