Interpersonal Communication (MC247) envision to equip competent graduates with exceptional people-oriented skills in nurturing them to be versatile professionals in various industries and cultures.
We believe the graduates will possess the ability to analyse communication patterns by listening actively, building appropriate perceptions, applying dynamic verbal and nonverbal communication, and propose solutions to enhance the valuable exchange of meaning between individuals with great emphasis on elements of empathy, conflict management skills and maintaining remarkable interpersonal relationships.
Interpersonal Communication is one of the longest-standing concentrations in the communication studies. The study of interpersonal communication investigates how communication shapes and is shaped by, human relationships, including friendships, families, and work relationships.
Interpersonal communication students specialize in areas such as cognitive and affective processes in interpersonal communication, public advocacy and civic engagement, group dynamics and leadership, family communication, the humanity in networked society, health communication, emotional intelligence, intercultural communication and conflict communication.
