Master’s Degree (By Research)
Master of Arts in Communication and Media Studies (MC750) is designed to demonstrate mastery of knowledge in the field of media and communications locally and globally. It is developed to apply practical skills in the field of media and communications and to relate ideas to societal issues in the field of media and communications.
Student will undergo research conduct with appropriate supervision and adhere to legal, ethics and professional codes of practice. These criteria are set in order to boast the individual’s potential on leadership qualities towards the current needs of media and communication practice.
Master of Arts in Communication and Media Studies (MC750) was introduced in 1999 with the objective to provide higher qualification and research skills among scholars. Being offered in full-research mode, full-time student is required to complete the study within one and a half (1.5) years minimum.
Student needs to attend two (2) Graduate Seminars by IPSis and a seminar of Entrepreneurial module (TIE2) by MASMED in order to meet the requirement of Defense of Research Proposal. A viva-voce session will be held upon the completion of study with a thesis writing of about 60,000 words.
Graduates may get the opportunity to join the workforce as an academics at higher institutions (local or abroad) or other industrial based in communication and media organizations.
